December 9, 2024: Destination Schema Evolution Management & Enhanced Output Validation

Release Notes · Updated August 26, 2025

General Release

We're excited to roll out new features designed to streamline how Reactor handles destination schema evolution, giving you greater control and visibility over your data pipelines. These enhancements ensure your mappings stay perfectly in sync with your data warehouse, preventing errors before they occur.

Keep Reactor in Sync with your Destinations

Introducing the "Sync with Datawarehouse" button, conveniently located on the new Destinations page in Reactor. This powerful new tool allows you to proactively check for any changes in your destination tables. With a single click, you can ensure that the output preview on the Mappings page accurately reflects the current schema of your destination, eliminating any discrepancies.

Proactive Warnings for Schema Discrepancies

To further safeguard your data integrity, we've updated the Output Table panel in all Output configuration screens. Reactor will warn you directly when a model linked to an output contains a field that does not exist in the output target's schema (this feature does not apply to output targets in Amazon S3).

This proactive warning is crucial because such discrepancies can cause records to error out when Reactor attempts to load them to the destination. By alerting you to these potential issues before they lead to errors, we empower you to resolve them swiftly and maintain a smooth, error-free data flow.

These combined features offer a more robust and intuitive experience for managing your data's journey from source to destination, giving you confidence in the accuracy and reliability of your data pipelines.

Here is a brief demonstration of these two features in action.
