How to add login credentials securely to 1Password
Getting Started · Updated July 1, 2025
When first getting started with Reactor Data, there are a variety of system credentials that we need to collect from you so that we can access and ingest your data. We use 1Password to securely gather your credentials in a SOC 2 compliant manner.
Getting Started
-
- Give the user's email address who will be responsible for providing all of your system credentials to Reactor to your project team lead.
- Reactor Data will then send this user an email invite to join the Reactor Data 1Password system, where they can securely enter your company’s system credentials.
Create a 1Password account
-
-
- From the 1Password email invitation from Reactor Data, follow the prompted steps to create your user account and password.
-
During this user account setup process, 1Password will give you a PDF that contains your account details and secret key.
- It is EXTREMELY important to download this document and store it in a secure location (based on your company policies) so that you can access your Reactor Data 1Password account.
- For now - keep this downloaded PDF readily available while you finish the account setup process.
-
During this account creation process, 1Password will guide you through their setup steps, which include:
-
Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
- You will be prompted during the 1Password account setup to setup TFA. This is easy to do using the Google Authenticator App (free to download!). Or, if you have a preferred authenticator app, use that.
- With your authenticator app, follow 1Passwords easy step-by-step instructions to complete your account creation.
-
Downloading the 1Password desktop app
- This is optional since you can also use your web browser to access 1Password. However, the desktop app makes the setup and credential creation process faster.
